Hurricane Ike Coverage (AC 360) Live From Houston

It is 12:00 midnight, Saturday, September 13, 2008. Hurricane Ike is still making it's way to Galveston. Although it is still a couple of hours away, Galveston has already been experiencing flooding, and high speed winds.

Anderson Cooper in Houston is already experiencing hurricane force winds....way before Ike comes in.

Galveston is basically in the darkness - no light! One of the CNN reporters just made such a true comment, "The most frightening time to go through a hurricane is at night, you just don't know what is coming."

Rick Sanchez, CNN reporter in La Porte, TX will get the eyewall of Ike.

HURRICANE IKE IS EDGING TOWARD A CATEGORY 3. FEMA PROJECTING $10 MILLION DAMAGES! FEMA PROJECTS IKE COULD DESTROY 4,500 BUILDINGS! LEVEE FAILURE REPORTED IN NEW ORLEANS! IKE AS BIG AS TEXAS.

DFW AIRPORT EXPECTS MAJOR DELAYS ON SATURDAY!

12ft storm surge in Galveston. 725,000 people in SE Texas without power - could be without it for 2-3 weeks.

Galveston update: 3 hours of hurricane force winds. Cat 4 winds reported at building-height. 85 mph gusts. Galveston Island is receiving many rescue calls.

1:00 a.m. Hurricane Ike still making it's way to land....
